“Em Bebbi sy Jazz” in Basel – probably the world’s largest one-day jazz event. More than 70 orchestras, 10 street bands & 3 choirs perform and admission is free.
The jazz festival “Em Bebbi sy Jazz” has been taking place on the first Friday after the Basel school summer holidays in August since 1984.
In the beginning there was the idea of two jazz fans to organize a summer evening festival to enliven Basel's city center and its most beautiful squares with traditional jazz and at the same time to give the many jazz bands from the region a platform to play in front of a wide audience to be able to.
